Edward Mann are recruiting for a national construction business in Kew East.

They are looking for a Commercial Accountant to work closely with the CFO to act as a senior member of the team and provide leadership to junior staff members.

This role will also lead financial reporting schedules and business partner with various stakeholders across the organisation.

It is a permanent position, paying up to 130k + Super and onsite parking provided

Responsibilities:

Ownership of financial reports for shareholders and management, including:

Month and Year End Results.
Operational performance.
Capital Expenditure proposal evaluation.

Establish budgets in coordination with divisional managers.
Ensure financial results are accurate and explain deviations from budget.
Apply commercial acumen to prioritise areas for deep analysis.
Analyse opportunities to mitigate risk or to optimize financial and / or operational results.
Present the results to alert management to the possible improvements available.
Research the industry, competitors and customers.
Participate strongly in Strategy brainstorming sessions with divisional and senior management.
Work closely with the systems team t develop the reporting systems to provide ongoing operational and financial data.

Desirables:

CA/CPA or equivalent qualified, those not studying or qualified by experience will still be considered.
Excellent stakeholder management skills.
Strong excel skills and systems savvy – Able to pick up and use new systems quickly.
Comfortable being a self-starter who can work independently with a high level of initiative.
Willingness to be involved and do tasks as necessary.
Must enjoy working on different projects and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
