​Edward Mann is recruiting for a well-respected and large business in the Aviation/Commercial Property sector based in Canberra, they are looking for a Corporate Governance and Risk Manager to step into a standalone role with in a ambitious business

The client is looking for an experienced individual to play a key role in ensuring that the group complies with the corporate regulatory requirements and policies. this role will see you supporting the CFO and other stakeholders with risk management and corporate governance or any current and future projects.

They are looking to pay up to 140k (inc. Super) for the right candidate but are flexible for exceptional individuals.

Role & Responsibilities

Corporate Governance

  • Manage all Corporate Governance related matters for the Group.

  • Continually reviewing the Group’s governance and making recommendations for improvement where relevant.

  • Maintain oversight of Audit and Risk Committee work-plans and preparation for future meetings

  • Review minutes of Audit and Risk Committee meetings, and manage action point completion from minutes of Audit and Risk Committee meetings.

  • Assisting with preparation of Board Papers, stakeholder reporting, compliance obligations, and Corporate Governance calendar & planning.

  • Support the CEO and CFO with all other Corporate Governance related matters for the Group.

Risk Management

  • Review and assess (with input from the Group and relevant sub-committees) the Risk Management Framework, Policies, and Strategic and Operational Risk Registers

  • Coordinate and manage all matters relating to the Risk Management Committee

  • Ensure risk management policies and procedures are effectively communicated to the management and staff throughout the Group

  • Support all areas of the business to conduct and review Risk Assessments, in accordance with the Risk Management Framework.

Special Projects

  • As required, undertake and project manage projects to ensure an effective risk management and corporate governance across the Group, with a focus on continual improvement.

  • Oversee other special projects as the CFO and the Group may decide.

  • This may involve coordinating multiple simultaneous work streams and communicating effectively with individuals to ensure project deadlines are met

  • Delivery of service emphasis – delivery to the public, taking feedback and presentation

  • Risk identification – the ability to identify and assess potential risks to the firm and its entities

  • Proficient in all aspects of the following software programs: Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
