Edward Mann is recruiting on behalf of a building safety business based in Arundel, Queensland. They are looking for an experienced Management Accountant on a permanent basis.
This is a hands-on position, working directly with the Group Management Accountant and CFO. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in the preparation of financial statements. In addition to KPI and company performance analysis and month end processes. They will also be a strong leader with the ability to mentor and supervise a small team.
This position is paying up to 110k + super.
Responsibilities:
Preparation of accurate Financial Statements and Month End Process/Workpapers supporting management financials:
Attending all international-related EOM Workpapers, including but not limited to, Landed Cost Clearing, GRNI and Advances Paid and accounting queries from managers in a timely manner
Prepare Year End financial statements and liaise with External Management Accountant
Prepare and lodge BAS, IAS, FBT, Payroll Tax and other taxation obligations
Ensure financial control measures are in place to monitor accuracy of all transactional data
Support the Group Management Accountant and CFO on special projects and Adhoc duties as required
Assist with Audit preparation and needs and in the improvement and streamlining of processes and accounting policies
Provide accounting for inventory and associated costings as required
Preparation of KPI & Analysis of company financial performance:
Provide advice on potential costs savings through analysing financial reports
Prepare KPI Statistical data on financial trend
Establish and conduct variance analysis, verification of data and provide commentary on financial trends
Management of Transactional Data
Bill entry for International Purchases and Freight Forwarders in the system.
Attend to transactional tasks where necessary, including accounts payable, payroll and treasury functions
Review and ensure all expenses are coded correctly to both GL and Job codes
Review and verify supplier bills and payment requests are in line with company AP policies
Complete credit card analysis is in line with company policies
Ensure accurate Debtor KPI’s are monitored and investigated where necessary
Understanding of end-to-end payroll (500 + staff) and backup payroll as required
Review Compliance – Payroll Tax, Superannuation and WorkCover, Insurance as examples
Ensure transaction workpapers and EOM deadlines are met to the greatest standard
Cashflow Forecasts and Budget Preparation
Assist the preparation of cashflow forecasts and statements to manage current and future requirements
Contribute and prepare budget planning and report of budgets where required
Provide commentary on Actual vs Budgets report
Governance, Compliance and Risk Management
Contribute and enhance the quality practices and ensure that own work meets quality requirements
Provide identification with control of risks and hazards to take advantage of emerging opportunities
Ensure all financial compliance requirements are meet in accordance with compliance deadlines
Candidate requirements:
CPA/CA qualified but those not studying or qualified by experience will still be considered
Strong Excel and/or NetSuite skills highly desirable
Proven leadership experience, ability to lead a small team.
Commercial accounting background
Excellent presentation and highly organised individual
Ability to work autonomously
Strong communication skills
Analysis of financial information and trends
