 Edward Mann is recruiting for a highly reputable community facilities developer & land lease operator with over 30 sites across Australia. The business is growing rapidly and has seen assets grow from $200 million in 2017 to over $1.2 Billion today. They also have a range of exciting partnerships with large ASX listed property developers

The position is based in the heart of Sydney’s CBD and offering up to 115k including super depending on experience. The role also offers great hybrid working options with up to 2 days a week WFH.

They’re seeking a hands-on Accountant that can work collaboratively in a vastly experienced finance team. The Accountant plays a vital role in supporting the finance function by acting as a business partner to the communities across Australia.

This role is responsible for accurate financial processing, reconciliations, and reporting, while ensuring compliance with internal controls and company policies. The Accountant provides day-to-day financial support to individual community management teams, assists with monthly management reporting, and contributes to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the finance team.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Business partner for various entities across Australia, first point of contact for the management teams of respected entities.
  • Process and review accounts payable and accounts receivable invoices, ensuring accuracy.
  • Prepare and review payment runs, bank transfers, and other payments.
  • Process and review daily rental collection reconciliations, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
  • Reconcile key supplier and debtor accounts, resolving discrepancies promptly.
  • Maintain and update fixed asset registers, ensuring appropriate classification, capitalisation, and deferrals.
  • Reconcile intercompany loans and balances, ensuring accuracy of allocations across entities.
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of monthly management accounts, providing accurate financial information for review by senior management.
  • Support the Senior Accountant with quarterly and annual reporting requirements.
  • Assist with external audit activities by preparing required documentation and addressing auditor queries.
  • Collaborate with peers to implement and test new systems and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, tax regulations and lodgements and internal policies specific to property development

 

Skills and Experience:

  • CPA/CA - those studying/not yet studying will also be considered.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Willingness to learn and adjust to a changing environment, supporting process improvements and system enhancements.
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively under pressure.
  • Prior experience in property management/hospitality will be highly regarded.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
