Edward Mann are partnering with a fast growing Fintech business in recruiting for a CTO based in Brisbane.

This business is at the forefront of the Digital Assets industry in Australia, as an early adopter in the country and will launch a number of hybrid financial products in the next 12-18 months, with the aim of becoming Australia’s first Digital Asset Bank.

They have also made significant progress with various regulatory bodies and are well on their way to becoming the most regulated Digital Asset derived business in Australia and APAC.

The company is well-funded and strongly de-risked from a regulatory perspective. This is an outstanding opportunity for a driven, capable and ambitious individual, who is looking to build something life-changing.

They are seeking a Tech expert, with extensive demonstrated experience in creating technology solutions in the Fintech, Payments and Banking space.

This role will lead and work closely with external providers on the design, implementation and maintenance of a new application/tech for a number of financial products soon to be launched.

You will have complete autonomy to manage the process however you see fit, with great resources, both financial and physical to achieve the end result.

In time as the business develops, you will also have scope to build out a team below you.

This is a permanent position, paying up to 180k + Super, but with flexibility for excellent candidates. There are also lucrative profit share opportunities in the venture.

Key responsibilities:

• Craft and execute the technology roadmap, aligning it seamlessly with the business objectives and visionary pursuits.

• Architect and oversee the digital finance ecosystem, ensuring it remains resilient, scalable, and fully compliant with regulations across multiple jurisdictions.

• Build, lead, and effectively manage the technology team, fostering a culture rooted in excellence and continuous innovation.

• Spearhead the advancement of cybersecurity, enterprise architecture, and IT Service Management (ITSM) while upholding impeccable data security and compliance standards.

• Expertly handle IT budgets and resources, delivering cost-effective, cutting-edge technology solutions.

• Pioneer the integration of blockchain and cryptocurrency technology, solidifying the business's position as a frontrunner in the fintech industry.

• Cultivate critical relationships with regulatory bodies to ensure strict adherence to financial regulations and industry norms.

• Provide oversight for the technical aspects of product development, from ideation to a successful market launch.

• Establish a robust IT infrastructure to support operational scalability and unwavering security.

• Guarantee the utmost security and confidentiality of customer data across various licensing and regulatory landscapes. Implement state-of-the-art data protection practices in line with international cybersecurity standards.

• Architect and maintain a robust data governance framework meticulously aligned with global regulatory mandates, including GDPR, CCPA, and local regulations in our operational jurisdictions.

• Collaborate closely with legal and compliance teams to proactively navigate the ever-evolving landscape of data protection laws. Apply these insights to fortify customer information and company data assets.

• Lead multifaceted initiatives to educate and empower our workforce in data protection best practices, fostering a pervasive culture of data security and privacy.

• Stay at the forefront of technological advancements and fintech trends, steering our strategic decisions.

• Infuse our technology team with an unwavering culture of innovation.

• Masterfully manage vendor relationships and technology partnerships to maximize their effectiveness.

• Assume a prominent public role, representing the business at industry events and forums, establishing thought leadership in the fields of fintech and cryptocurrency.

Ideal candidate:

• Proven experience as a CTO, preferably in the financial services and blockchain sectors, with a track record of delivering innovative technology solutions within regulated environments.

• In-depth knowledge of Web 3.0, blockchain, cryptocurrency, DeFi, tokenomics, smart contracts, cloud services, and advanced cybersecurity measures.

• Exceptional leadership skills with experience in building and managing high-performance teams.

• Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, capable of fostering partnerships and driving team performance.

• An entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
