Edward Mann is recruiting for a Company Accountant on behalf of an internationally recognised ASX Listed tech company based just 30 min East of Melbourne CBD. The company boasts a great reputation and possesses some great IP and an agile ‘market leading’ team.

This individual will work closely with the Finance Manager to maintain efficient finance processes for the group with responsibility for presenting accurate, timely and relevant financial reporting and analysis to the Leadership team and ensure the effectiveness of the group’s financial controls.

The individual will have the responsibility of being 2IC and focus on Taxation, Payroll and maintenance of the FAR whilst assisting in leading a team of 6 finance professionals.

The role is offering the opportunity for great short to medium term growth / progression. The role is paying up to $105k + super depending on experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare GL reconciliations for accounts as nominated by Finance Manager.

  • Produce reports and reconciliations for employee benefits accounts.

  • Assist in consolidation of financial statements.

  • Work as a key contact for audit queries.

  • Prepare and reconcile Business Activity Statements each month.

  • Prepare and file sales tax return (USA), HST return (Canada) and VAT return (Netherlands) each quarter. This can be taught.

  • Assist in the preparation of year-end tax returns.

  • Preparation of year-end FBT return.

  • Responsible for end-to-end Payroll tasks, including payment and reconciliation of salaries & wages for the main trading entity; submission of payroll files to outsourced company for foreign entities (e.g. EU, Canada and US),

  • Preparation of payroll tax returns, PAYG, superannuation / 401K / pension funds, employee benefits and other payroll related expenses.

  • Ensure that Fixed Asset Register is accurately maintained.

  • Preparation of monthly fixed assets and spare parts reconciliation.

  • Oversee bi-annual spare parts count and full fixed asset count every year 3 years.

  • Other general accounting duties for period-end close reporting as requested by the Chief Financial Officer and/or Finance Manager.

 

 

Requirements & qualifications:

  • CA or CPA qualification (those studying towards and without will still be considered)

  • Excellent analytical ability with skills that enable coordination of data, including MS-Office (PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Excel)

  • Strong Communicator with excellent listening and interaction skills

  • Ability to multi-task and collaboratively work in a team to meet deadlines.

  • High level analytical & problem-solving skills

  • Good organisational skills
