Edward Mann is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join a manufacturing business based in Berkeley Vale, NSW 2261. Having been around for over 50 years the business is 100% Australian owned and operated and an award winning manufacturer of household goods.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in financial management, particularly within the manufacturing sector. As the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company, managing the finance team, and ensuring the efficient utilisation of resources.

They are willing to pay up to 180k + Super for the right candidates and potentially more for exceptional people.


  • Develop annual budgets and forecasts in collaboration with department heads.

  • Monitor budget performance and provide regular updates to management.

  • Identify opportunities to improve cost efficiency and revenue generation.

  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.

  • Analyse financial data and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.

  • Monitor cash flow trends and ensure adequate liquidity for operational needs.

  • Develop and implement strategies to optimise cash flow and minimise financial risk.

  • Prepare cash flow forecasts and analyse variances.

  • Lead and manage a team of finance professionals, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to team members.

  • Oversee all aspects of cost accounting, including:

  • Overhead costs analysis and allocation.

  • Overhead recoveries.

  • Work orders management.

  • Analysis of production and raw costs, warehousing, R&D, and labour hire.

  • Conduct regular cost variance analysis and identify opportunities for cost optimisation.


  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. MBA or CPA preferred those studying towards will still be considered.

  • Proven experience in a financial management role, preferably within the manufacturing industry.

  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and practices.

  • Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.

  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and financial management software.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
