Edward Mann is recruiting for a 3 x mid-level full-stack software engineers on behalf of an exciting Australian Tech start up. The roles are paying up to 140k + super depending on experience and can be flexible for outstanding candidates. Our client is a rapidly growing Aussie tech start-up that is tackling the relatively new EdTech category. They are pioneering to ensure schools, students and parents get the very most from their extracurricular programs - from sport, to music, performing arts, outdoor education and more.

The product is currently used by 10s of 1000s of staff and students at schools across Australia. They are one of the fastest growing EdTech businesses in APAC growing 2X in 2022, 2X in 2023 and have eyes on great gains for 2024. This year the business will continue to go international, launching across the Middle East and Asia. Over the past year has received large capital injections from a variety of VC partners and being written up in Forbes and the Australian Financial Review.

You will be a key member of the development team, work directly with the founders and external stakeholders to position yourself as a key driver of Growth!

About the Role

The mid-level full-stack engineer will build out core functionality and improve the scalability of the system.Your day-to-day will involve.

Work collaboratively with designers and other engineers to build solutions that enhance our customers' experience.
Writing code that is clean, highly maintainable, and well-tested.
Perform code reviews of peer engineers.
Operate as a team player, as well as coaching and mentoring other engineers.
Make suggestions on how to improve the codebase and architecture.
Work with the support team to debug and fix production defects.
Occasionally engaging with customers by coming along to demos and customer success meetings.

Tech Stack

Angular - Desirable, but equivalent (React/Vue would suffice)
Node.js
PostgreSQL
Typescript
AWS or other cloud solutions (Google Cloud, Azure)
Micro-services with serverless infrastructure
Monorepo with Nx
Jest, Storybook, Cypress for testing.

Your Skills and Experience

At least 3 years of experience working with customers, ideally in feel comfortable working across a range of technologies.
Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals (incl. performance, data structures, design patterns, networking)
Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Fluency in typescript
