Senior Accountant

​Edward Mann is recruiting for a mechanical engineering business based in Rockhampton, QLD. They are looking for a permanent Senior Accountant to join the company in a period of exceptional growth. 

The role offers excellent progression opportunities, with the successful candidate to work closely with the Chief Financial Officer. You will play a crucial role in leading the Finance area across day to day transactional activities (AR, AP, cashflow, FX) through to weekly and monthly reporting to internal and external shareholders.  

The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills including an outcome focused mindset and the ability to communicate effectively and influence leaders.

The client is willing to pay up to $130,000 + Super, but potentially flexible depending on candidate experience.

Responsibilities:

• Preparation of financial, management and statutory accounts

• Management and supervision of invoicing, cash payments and bank accounts

• Ensuring compliance with taxation requirements and accounting standards

• Management and preparation of Tax Returns, including FBT returns and monthly BAS returns

• Management of annual statutory audit process

• Oversee supply chain management including procure to pay activities

• Contributing to robust checks and controls across the finance and accounting functions, reconciliations and reviews, segregation of duties and appropriate training

• Contribution to, and monitoring of accounts payable and receivable processes

• Liaison with personnel across the company to provide support in accounting, purchasing and payment activities

Skills and Experience

• CPA or CA qualified (Those not qualified or studying towards will still be considered)

• Strong interpersonal skills including an outcome focused mindset and the ability to communicate effectively and influence leaders

• Well organised and confident in managing competing priorities

• Be a team player with the ability to interact effectively with a diverse workforce
