Edward Mann is seeking 3x Senior Corporate Accountants on behalf of a Nationally recognised, reputable & recently revamped conglomerate. Each position will fall under a different arm of the business and will own the preparation of the financial & management accounts for that arm.

Our client is a national leader with a diverse & well-balanced business focused on B2B & B2C segments – including Energy, Mining, Agribusiness and Retail.

The head office is located conveniently on the within Adelaide’s CBD. Our client offers exceptional flexibility which will allow the ideal candidate to work remotely for 1-2 days a week from home and have access to flexible hours.

The positions are offering up to 140k + super. Our client is happy to accept candidates from all stages in their career as intensive training and development is on offer.

You will work closely with the Senior Accounting Manager to liaise between your division and the functional accounting team members to deliver accounts, analysis and commentary that accurately reflects the firms financial performance and position. You will also act as a first point of contact for the divisions executive team in a business partnership capacity.

  • Build deep knowledge of your specific business unit and work closely with business owners to improve the quality and accuracy of the financial accounts

  • Analyse and review trial balances and management reporting outputs to ensure accounts are standards/policy compliant, submitted on time & are error-free and publication ready,

  • Work with business owners and cross functional teams to prepare clear and concise written commentary of our financial performance and position for inclusion in management reports’

  • Participate in the Quarterly /Yearly Audit – assisting where you can.

  • Provide guidance and direction to functional accounting team members to deliver an accurate and timely close. No direct reports but certainly an element of mentorship & guidance of junior staff.

  • Anticipate and assess internal resource constraints and request/escalate to the Corporate Accounting Manager for support as required.

  • Investigate complex issues or anomalies in the accounts then recommend corrections and process improvements.

  • Analyse accounts and supply data in response to more complex requests from the business.

  • Interpreting the accounts to drive greater financial literacy in the business, filling in gaps with cross functional teams and operational personnel (non-finance).

  • Contribute to the development and application of accounting policy in line with IFRS

  • Contribute to the preparation of information and reporting for audit, statutory/compliance obligations, and other business request

 

 

Desirables

 

  • CA/CPA Qualification – Those studying towards / or without will still be considered

  • Strong professional writing skills and ability to interpret and describe business performance based on financial accounts

  • Functional accounting or audit experience with a working practical knowledge of IFRS

  • Natural leadership qualities

  • Experience with Microsoft Navision is an advantage but not essential

  • Experience in related industries Retail, Energy Mining would be preferred but not essential.
