Edward Mann is recruiting on behalf of a nationally recognised family-owned hospitality group for the position of Senior Financial Accountant. The successful candidate will display a strong understanding of the accounting process, and possess the attributes of a team player, critical thinker, be adaptable to change, and have an attention to detail.

This position is paying up to $120k + super and is in Picnic Point. The role reports to the FC and offers WFH hybrid arrangements once the candidate has passed probation.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare monthly P&L Analysis reporting.

  • Providing insight to the CEO and Managers on key business drivers such as sales, direct costs, and operating costs, in conjunction with key business metrics such as gross profit and net profit.

  • Prepare weekly Cash Flow reporting.

  • Prepare monthly Budget and Forecast reporting.

  • Prepare Annual statutory accounts, workpapers and tax reconciliations for external accountant/tax agent.

  • Prepare Payroll Tax Returns including Annual Reconciliations.

  • Prepare Activity Statements (monthly IAS and quarterly BAS) - reconcile and record daily & weekly.

  • Reconcile Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss monthly.

  • Support Accounts Payable Officer to ensure creditor invoices are authorised, and accurately uploaded into the financial accounting system and paid timely.

  • Support Payroll Officer to ensure employees are paid accurately in accordance with NES and/or the industry Award.

  • Process payments via banking software system and review to ensure accuracy.

  • Maintain bank and credit card accounts and ensure entries are processed and reconciled in a timely and efficient manner.

  • Assist with maintaining employee master file details in system in a timely, confidential manner.

  • Assist with ensuring all available government subsidies are being claimed.

  • Assist with maintaining internal control systems.

  • Liaise with financial institutions and brokers to establish funds management arrangements and maintain banking relationships.

  • Assist with maintaining Corporate Secretarial records.

  • Other ad hoc projects and tasks.

  • Coordinating and scheduling of meetings as required.

  • Preparing agendas, taking meeting notes, and actioning items to completion.

  • Management and protection of confidential information daily.

 

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

  • Demonstrated experience supporting a Finance Team.

  • Strong accounting experience overall to date ideally within a Family Office, Property or Hospitality industry (Desirable).

  • Qualified or studying for CA or CPA designation (those without will also be considered).

  • Intermediate to advanced skills across Microsoft Office 365 suite of products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

  • High level of professional communication, writing and presentation skills, including demonstrated experience in the preparation of correspondence.

  • A high level of emotional intelligence being able to interact with a range of internal and external stakeholders and act with composure and make decisions on a range of matters.

  • Maintains a very high work ethic and integrity at all times, particularly as the person will be subject to highly confidential business and personal matters.

  • Willingness to take on new challenges and learn new skills.

  • Actively display a team-oriented attitude in the work environment.

  • Travel - this role will require some travel within NSW and be comfortable flying.
