Edward Mann is recruiting for a leading design and construction business based in Terrey Hills, NSW. They are looking for a permanent Senior Management Accountant to join the company in a period of exceptional growth.

​This role offers excellent progression opportunities, with the successful candidate to work closely with the Financial Controller. You will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining a extensive management reporting pack that provides valuable insights into the organisation's financial performance.

​The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills with a hard-working attitude and prior experience in the construction industry.

​The client is willing to pay up to 130K + Super, but potentially flexible depending on candidate experience. The role offers great working from home flexibility as well as several other perks including onsite parking, paid parental leave and an employee wellness program.

Responsibilities:

  • Budgeting and forecasting process - developing and lead the annual budgeting process across all divisions.

  • Month-end process - assisting with the month-end process to help the finance team meet deadlines.

  • Develop a new management reporting pack - for the executive leadership team through analysis of financial date.

  • System implementation - lead a financial system implementation from Xero to MYOB Advance and being a key point of contact with the system provider to ensure the company’s requirements will be met.

  • Collaborating with the construction and procurement departments to help the business prepare for a potential new construction management system implementation.

  • Business partnering - working with department heads to understand their reporting needs and developing reports.

  • Finance department recommendations - make cost saving, profit improving, and efficiency based recommendations for the finance department.

  • Produce consistent, high-quality financial information - leading to culture of financially accurate and understandable information for all levels of management.

  • Providing insightful commentary - on material trends and variances that may impact the business both from an opportunity or risk perspective.

  • Ad-hoc accounting requirements - supporting the Financial Controller with any ad-hoc accounting requirements.


Skills and experience:

  • A qualified accountant and have other qualifications in Finance e.g., CA/CPA. (Candidates working towards these qualifications will still be considered)

  • Experience working in the construction industry highly regarded, but not essential

  • Confidence in using IT systems and programs, such as Builder Trend, Procore, Xero and MYOB Advance

  • In-depth knowledge of financial regulations and accounting processes.

  • Stakeholder engagement and management

  • Ability to apply knowledge in a practical, commercial manner

  • Capability to interpret and present financial information in concise way.

  • A motivated and energetic approach with the desire to drive continuous improvements.

  • Self-motivated, positive and inspired/resilient leader who succeeds with people management with a proven history of developing high performing teams.

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
