Edward Mann is looking for Management Accountant on behalf on behalf of a well-respected top tier Australian University based in Sydney. The University works to change lives through learning & research, focused on making a real impact.
The role can be based in Sydney or Perth and is offering up to 140k package.
You’ll play a central role in delivering timely and meaningful financial reports, leading forecasting cycles, and collaborating closely with business partners to guide key decisions.

Responsibilities:
Monthly Financial Reporting:
Prepare and deliver accurate, insightful monthly management reports, highlighting key financial outcomes, trends, and variance analysis across a diverse portfolio.Budgeting & Forecasting:
Lead the annual budget process and rolling forecasts, working closely with business units to align financial plans with strategic objectives.Business Partnering:
Collaborate with non-finance stakeholders to understand operational drivers, interpret financial data, and support informed decision-making at both local and executive levels.Strategic Financial Advice:
Provide high-quality financial insights and advice to assist in planning, resource allocation, and performance improvement.Financial Modelling & Scenario Planning:
Develop and maintain financial models for long-term planning, business cases, or investment decisions.Continuous Improvement:
Contribute to the enhancement of internal financial systems, tools, and processes—identifying opportunities to streamline reporting and improve financial literacy across teams.Compliance & Controls:
Ensure adherence to internal financial governance and external reporting requirements, supporting audit and compliance obligations as required.Project Support:
Provide financial input to operational and strategic projects, including cost-benefit analysis, feasibility studies, and funding assessments.
Desirables :
CA/CPA Qualification – Those without/studying to wards will still be considered.
Experience in creating financial models.
Ability to dive through data – use tools like Power BI, Querrey and SQL to generate reports.
Able to engage and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
Excellent written, verbal, listening, presentational and interpersonal communication skills.
Sound judgement, interpretative skills and informed decision making.
Able to analyse results and problem solve.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to relate with all levels of management, staff and consultants.
