Are you looking for a role where you’re trusted to lead, backed by a supportive leadership team and have the ability to make an impact?
You will lead the process for financial reporting, process improvements and system efficiency projects. While also getting the opportunity to mentor a team of 4.
With the guidance of a supportive Senior Leadership Team, you will step into a key leadership role for 12 months as a parental leave cover.
Whether you’re a seasoned senior accountant looking to step up, or an established finance leader who still loves rolling up your sleeves, this role could be a perfect match.
Why this role stands out:
Up to $120k + Super + salary packaging (equivalent of circa 135k outside of NFP/Charity).
5 weeks annual leave + monthly allocated day off
Wodonga-based, with limited work-from-home flexibility
Supportive, down-to-earth leadership team and collaborative finance culture
Be part of a mission-driven organisation making a tangible community impact
Here’s what you’ll be doing:
Oversee and support the day-to-day financial operations, including journals, reconciliations, month-end and compliance.
Guide and mentor a team of four in the financial accounting team.
Prepare and review monthly reports to government and internal stakeholders.
Ensure accurate capital project reporting in line with AASB standards.
Contribute to audit processes, control improvements and systems development.
Support the Director of Finance and step up during periods of absence.
What we’re looking for:
CA/CPA qualification is desirable but not essential - capability and attitude matter more.
Strong experience in financial or management accounting, ideally in a regulated, asset-heavy or public sector environment.
Confidence managing deadlines, guiding a team and improving processes.
Ability to work with large datasets – Capable Excel skills (SUMIFS, pivot tables, VLOOKUPs)
Strong attention to detail, balanced with a practical approach to getting things done.
Previous people management or team leadership experience (or a desire to step into it with the right support).
